Rumors indicate that this area will soon have to be re-themed due to the new Pirate's Shore area coming in 2013:
Let's talk a little bit about "The Battle for Brickbeard’s Bounty" water-ski show. As you know, this show has received some quite major changes. The most important changes have been applied to the story-line, the special effects, and the stunts. Overall, the show feels fresh and less childish than it did before. We would love to see more pyrotechnic effects, but maybe that would be asking too much from a kid-centered theme park:
