Walt Disney World Resorts: Planned System Outage

In just a few days, all the Walt Disney World hotels will be affected by a planned outage. Here's a summary* of the advisory that guests will be able to find in their room starting from tomorrow:

To continue to flourish as a magical destination, it is necessary for us to make enhancements from time to time. As a result, beginning 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2012, we will receive computer system enhancements that are anticipated to be completed that afternoon. To assist in making your vacation experience as seamless as possible during our system enhancements, please note the following:

• If you would like to make a breakfast or lunch reservation reservation for Thursday, February 23, we recommend you do so by 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2012;
• If you have to pick up your tickets to attend any of of the Disney dinner-shows, please, do so by 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2012;
• If you would like to purchase or upgrade a park ticket from your resort hotel, we recommend you do so by 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2012. Remember that you will still be able to purchase and upgrade tickets directly at the main entrance of the theme parks and water parks.

It is a positive thing to see enhancement being done across the Walt Disney World Resort. We will continue to keep you up-to-date in case there should be an extension to this advisory, even though we are sure everything will be done in time.
