Heading to WDW - Need a ticket question answered! 1 Year, 5 Months ago Karma: 4
Yes, webmaster himself is heading back to WDW after a 7 year drought... hard to believe, but since that time my wife and have had a little one and he turns 3 this July.. We're taking him down there the first week of October in '09.. We got our flights ($550 RT for all 3 of us from Boston to Tampa (staying w/family for 3 nights) and then outbound from Orlando to Boston).

Now we'll probably be staying at a house in the area w/a pool and such.. so i'll just be getting some tickets on my own..

Here is my question.. I know what the park hopper ticket allows for.. and I'd buy a 3-day Park Hopper for our time in the area..

However, lets say I purchase a Base Ticket; right now you can get 5 day base ticket for the price of a 4 day... Now could I do the following:

Saturday - Use Day 1 of ticket at MK
Sunday - Use Day 2 of ticket for MK, use Day 3 of ticket for Epcot
Monday - Use Day 4 of ticket for Epcot, use Day 5 of ticket for Studios

That is using the "days" as entrances? Or will their super sophisticated computer system set off lights; they cart me away and force me to clean the Small World lagoon for 2 years... thanks guys!

Oh and secondly... my son turns 3 in July... We are going in October.. so he will be 3 years 3 months; how easy is it to not buy a ticket for him? Can i get him in as just under 3?

First off, congratulations on making it back to WDW! There'll be so much for you to see and do there. And depending when in October, the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot may be going on.

Secondly, as long as he's not too big, you might be able to get away with your son as an under 3. It's worth a shot.

Thirdly, I'm not sure how the ticketing system works. My thought is to just get park hoppers. With the finger printing system, I'm not sure you'll be able to use your days like that and then run the risk ending up in Disney jail. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Wow! 7 years. I could never go that long.
Definitely get the planning video. You have so much to catch up on.

To answer your question, No, you cannot use 2 days in 1 day. When you try to put the ticket into the turnstyle at the second park that day the computer will read that it's already been used that day and deny entry. You can only use the ticket at 1 park per day. You can leave a park and return to the same park in a day, but it really is a 1 park per day ticket. If you want to go to more than 1 park in a day then you must purchase the park hopper option.

Now for your son, this question has generated so much controversey on other websites. Disney does not ask for proof of age for kids. They will take your word for how old you say your son is. Now, if he's around 6 feet tall and is sporting a 5 o'clock shadow, then yeah, they may ask for proof of age.

Even though you're not staying onsite, you can still take advantage of the Extra Magic Hours. When one park stays open late to Disney hotel guests. To get on rides, you would need to show your Disney hotel room key, but, to wander around, shop, and eat you can stay as long as you like. Disney won't ask you to leave. For example, at Epcot, World Showcase stays open on EMH nights. You could stay later and shop or eat if you wanted.

Ask any other questions you've got.

have a great time planning your vacation, Webmaster...for me, thats half the fun!

i wish i could go this year with the rocky financial times, it looks like i wont be able to move there next year, but im still planning on it!!

you know, Sue, i never even thought of that, just staying there to hang out. i personally find that just as much fun as riding. Rachel did that quite often when she was working there, esp at World Showcase. just BEING THERE is the thing for me!! ill have to remember that one

Thanks guys.. from what I read you can't use say 2 "day admissions" in one day to hop parks.. what we will probably do is the following:

1. I've got left over base tickets from 1986 with 2 days child admission on them. I'll buy my son an additional 2 day base ticket.
2. We'll buy a 4-day hopper for my wife and I
3. We'll go into the parks w/the "option" to hop. That is if we want to hop we're legal for my wife and I, and at the second park we'll just tell Disney he's under 3.
