a few days ago we watched Chaplin with Robert Downey, Jr...what a GREAT movie!

i had no idea about the life of Charlie Chaplin aside from "The Little Tramp" that everyone knows about him

We saw the Percy Jackson & the Olympians movie today. As a movie, it was ok. As an adaptation of the book, it wasn't good at all! The book was a very fun read. The movie was more action-packed. My advice is to read the book and skip the movie.

i didnt like Post Grad

the story of the grad (Alexis Bledel) was okay, much like Rory Gilmore, but the accompanying story was really annoying, dumb actually in my eyes, and ruined the rest.

the ppl chosen to play her family were completely incompatible IMO as well as the dopey storyline

hopefully she will do better next time

^ Thanks for that. I thought it looked like it might be a cute movie, but now I think I'll skip it.

I watched the original Clash of the Titans the other day in anticipation of the remake coming out soon. You just can't beat the effects of Ray Harryhausen. Medusa scared me as a kid and she still does.

^ I've lost hope on getting the other two seasons.

I finally saw New Moon. I liked it much better than Twilight, which is growing on me. I thought New Moon followed the book better. Team Jacob!

Re:What was the last film you saw before...NOW? 4 Months ago Karma: 8

got a few new vhs tapes over the past week...
i know, no one wants them anymore, but you know what, they dont scratch like dvds do! Rachel always checks vhs tapes when we borrow a movie from the library if it comes in both formats....

anyway, i got High Anxiety and The Man With The Golden Gun for 50 cents each at the library flea market on Saturday....

later that evening, at my brother's, he gave us a box of old vhs tapes he didnt want anymore....i got FORBIDDEN PLANET, one of my favorite sci-fi movies (my favorite genre of all) along with some other good ones, including Quigley Down Under and When Harry Met Sally im happy!

saw a few good movies on TCM today....

Tina, i think you would like "Light in the Piazza" if youve never seen it...made in about 1962 and its set in Italy...so reminds me of Three Coins in The Fountain or Darling Lili, films like that...

after that was Sunset Boulevard.....you know about my love affair with William Holden what an awesome film that is!

Thanks for the recommendation! It sounds like something I'd like.

Ahh William Holden. Just to watch him in the previews for Picnic (sigh). Wow!

Last night was Singin' in the Rain on TCM. Afterwards they showed Sunset Boulevard but at that point I was too tired and went to bed (sorry Tink.). However, I'd like to watch it sometime over the summer.
