^ nice to hear it..you guys just arent used to winter like we are, tho that doesnt make me like it any better lol!
it has been SUPER COLD here over the weekend; yesterday morning it was 1 degree with a -5 wind chill 
finally today it seems to have moved out; it was only 8 this morning but it got up to about 25 today and is supposed to be only a low of 19 tonight
i cant believe that tomorrow is February already. the year is going too fast already

^ I think the lights from all of the tv cameras cast the shadow that the groundhog sees each year giving us more winter.
As for here in New England...clear and cold. A major storm is approaching from the southwest, but is expected to skirt south of us. And that's good news because I am really done with winter now. |

^yes, definitely, Animator, that is what i always say, too. of course he will see his shadows with all the tv equipment!
im glad that you arent getting the storm but we are supposed to get 4-8 INCHES here in Pittsburgh by the time it is over! this is ridiculous
today it was pretty decent, about 36 degrees and mostly sunny all day long. the last i heard, the snow is expected here at about 1 pm tomorrow... |

the snow started yesterday at about 12:15 pm and it finally stopped today at about noon...
havent heard the official total, but at 7 a.m. today it was 17 inches at Pgh International. then we lost our phone/tv/internet service till about 9 pm....
THEN the water company called for mandatory conservation because of power outage that left them unable to pump....what next!? |

That's terrible! I bet you're really anxious for winter to be over.
We were in the mid to upper 50s today and mostly cloudy. I'm thinking this winter is worse than last year's.

oh yes, its worse coz i want to be living there than just being lousy here. before i knew i wanted to live there it was bad enuf lol!
our official total was 21.1 inches, set a record for snowfall on Friday with 11.4 inches
its been bright and sunny here for several days, cold as all get-out, tho with temp between 0 and 3 degrees the past 3 mornings
tomorrow they are calling for another storm with another 1-3 inches...i am SOOO SICK OF THIS! |

I'm sorry. Watching people get ready for that storm on the news reminded me of down here getting ready for a hurricane. Same concept. How bad will it be when the snow melts and you have all that water running off?? will there be floods? |

Man, that's awful about all the storms in the Northeast. You guys can't catch a break. 
Our forecast is thus: rain, freezing temps, rain again, freezing temps. We won't be making it out of the 50s for highs for the next week. |

thanks, Sue. yes, its pretty scary to see everyone at the store buying up all the food they can find, salt for the sidewalks, flashlights, batteries. im sure its exactly like you guys have for hurricanes
we do get serious flooding here in Pittsburgh, where its mostly hills and we have three major rivers that run thru downtown. roads and parking lots close when it gets to flood stage, which is about 26 feet at the Point (where the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers join to form the Ohio River. even a really heavy rain here can cause flooding coz we have lots of streams and creeks in this city for some reason
thanks for thinking of us. hopefully we will fare well and it will be over soon!

Talking to CMs from Italy and the UK, Rome and London are having a pretty rotten winter as well. I think everyone in the northern hemisphere is having a bad winter this year. Especially Vancouver,Canada since they're not snowy as usual and have to import snow for the Winter Games. |

it is finally moderating a bit to more seasonal temps. it got to about 35 degrees today and it was sunny and clear, which means the GIGANTIC icicles we have are starting to melt and fall down.
it was front-page news and everywhere i went today there were stores with sections of the sidewalk blocked off because of icicles or snow that could fall on ppl. there have even been a few roof collapses in the area. not to mention the snow piles on the side of the road, some places they were at least 10 feet high! it will take forever for them to melt |

We're supposed to be in the low 70s today, but then another cold front will come through tomorrow and it's back to rainy, cold weather. Waah!

Well, yesterday and today we got into the upper 70s. Yay! But tomorrow we're getting a cold front, which will be followed by another and then another and so on and back to unseasonably cold temperatures. Boo! |

winter is really clobbering us this year....it is snowing AGAIN, and they are calling for 4-8 inches in our area by Saturday night. it's officially the snowiest February on record here now, i hear, tho i dont know the total

Tomorrow we're getting freezing rain and may not get out of the 40s.
And Epcot's Flower and Garden festival starts on Thursday. We MIGHT be in the 60s that day. They might not want to start the festival so early next year. |
