Well, to be honest, I really couldn't wait to finish "Huckleberry Finn" and return it to the shelf. I found myself dozing off pretty often as I was reading it.
Right now I'm reading The Choice by Nicholas Sparks. A copy my mom found at the grocery store left abandoned. I meant for Message in a Bottle to be the first book by his that I would read, since I really enjoyed the film, but instead I'm really enjoying this one thus far.

I'm not really into vampires. My cousin is totally into the series though. I'm still trying to make it through my last Mary Poppins book. It's an easy read, I just haven't had too much time to read lately.
PS. Welcome back, Tyler. :o

It seems like Twilight would be a series I'd get into, but I can't bring myself to start reading the books. I have no desire to see the movie either. :? Even if Cedric Diggory is in it.
Good to see you Tyler!

Thank you, Sue and Tina! It has been way too long, I must say.
Tina, I personally think you would love Twilight...is there any particular reason you're against it? Also, my favorite series out right now is the Percy Jackson series, by Rick Riordan, which started with "The Lightning Thief." If you're looking for something to replace Harry Potter, these are the books to read IMO.

^ It has been too long! I've been missing your Disneyland reports.
I was going to start reading the Twilight saga this summer since I'd been hearing so much about it, but some of exerps I'd read online didn't exactly thrill me. And so I forgot about the series. But like Sue said, our cousin is really into it and so with her opinion and yours, I may give it another go.

Welcome back Tylerpolo - great to see you here.
I'm currently reading 'Bare Bones' by Kathy Reichs. It's the first time I've read any of her books. Anybody here read any of her novels?

I am reading...well...nothing. My travel has increased dramatically towards the end of this year, but I am using the flight times and late nights in the hotels to try and catch up on some sleep. Two kids under two can be tiring. I am though hopeful that Santa will be putting some books into my stocking.

Outliers by Malcolm something or other, is supposed to be really good. By the same guy who wrote Blink. The book is about people who have extraordinary success and what sets them apart. It's on my list for whenever I get finished with Mary poppins. Whenever I get time to read again.

I started Pope Joan by Donna Woolfolk Cross the other night. I honestly had nothing at home that I had either not already read multiple times or just simply did not want to read. My wife suggested this book. I usually shy away from her collection of books as they are usually not my style but I have found myself pleasantly surprised by this book. It is 400+ pages and I am only into 100+ pages but so far so good. I am pretty sure that Mrs. Claus will be filling my stocking with some new books soon.

I finally finished Mary Poppins!
Now I'm on March by Geraldine Brooks. It's what happened to Mr. March, the missing father from Little Women, while he was off being a chaplain in the Civil War. It's pretty good. It's about his experiences down South. If you like Civil War stories and that era of time you'll like this book. It's also about a man and his morals and beliefs and how they change and evolve. It won the Pulitzer Prize in 2006.

Malcolm Gladwell, yes.
He's a very entertaining Non-fic author. I read quite a good portion of The Tipping Point and a bit of Blink as well. I recommend all his books.
I started reading American Lion by John Meacham, which is a great bio of Andrew Jackson, the 7th President of the United States. Jackson was quite a character!

Finally finished. It was an okay book. Today I started Nelson Demille's "spencerville."

I finished March. Very good. I see why it got the Pulitzer Prize. Now I'm into A School teacher in frontier Alaska. It's the true story of a woman who went to teach school in Alaska back before it becamea state. Around the turn of the century. some things just never change. lol

Yesterday I read Madeline and the Cats of Rome. Very cute book. But now I'm starting in on Twilight, to see what the fuss is about.

I finished Twilight and I ended up really enjoying it. You were right Tyler. I thought the Cullens were a lot more interesting than Bella. And personally think Edward deserves better than her. Ah well. I guess I'll be reading New Moon eventually.
But I still like Harry Potter better!

I'm reading Anne of Avonlea by Lucy Maud Montgomery. The first sequel to "Anne of Green Gables." Of course, I've developed a pretty poor sleeping cycle lately, so I'm usually tired during my "reading hours," so the reading is going pretty slowly.

I liked Anne of Avonlea. Was a little disappointed in the movie of it tho. In this case, the book is definitely better.
