^ Well, saying it's about rock music is putting a nice spin on it. It's more like rock musicians and the women who loved them, ahem. But it was an interesting read!
Now I'm reading Pamela Des Barres more famous book "I'm With the Band."

Finished Half Blood Prince and now onto Deathly Hallows. I really liked Half Blood Prince. I was thinking the prince was Voldemort but surprised when I found out who it really was. And, when I first found out the ending, my thought was that Snape and Dumbledore had set it up. That something had to be up between them. It couldnt be that cut and dried as presented in the book. Now I can't wait for the movie!

I am currently reading It Doesn't Take a Hero : The Autobiography of General H. Norman Schwarzkopf. I am normally not one to read autobiographys - I instead enjoy books that I can relax with and leave the real world behind, but I have always admired this man and now even more so after having only read a couple of chapters.

I finished HP and Deathly Hallows at Sanibel Island last Saturday. Once I got near the end I really could't put it down. Very good.
Now I'm reading Tears of the Giraffe. The second book in the No.1 Ladies Detective Agency series. I love the setting of AFrica. Makes you feel like you're there.

Since we're done with Harry Potter, our book club has moved on to other books. We're taking the month of August off, but we're resuming in September with "Little Women."

Ok, I finished books 2-4 in the No.1 Ladies Detective agency series. I really like those books. They're easy to read, quick, and I love the characters. They're funny, sweet, and very relatable. I highly recommend them.
Now I'm reading, The end of overeating. Taking control of the Insatiable American Appetite. By David Kessler, MD. It's about why and how we overeat. Turns out that foods high in salt, fat, and sugar actually rewire your brain to crave them more, just like drugs do. Then, throw in the reward mechanism, the dopamine and endorphines that get produced and you figure out why you can't eat only 1 chip. The foods actually program our body to want them more. It's all very interesting. And of course, the food industry knows this and uses it to get us hooked on bigger portions and wanting to go out to eat. It definitely takes more than will power to not overeat. some people are more suseptible than others but we all have it in us to crave salt, sugar, and fat. This is also an easy read too, despite the medical jargon. He explains things very well. He used to be the FDA commissioner.

Right now I'm ready Nicholas Sparks' Dear John. So far it's been good, though after reading three of his novels and seeing three of the films based on them, I most definitely sense a bit of a formulaic pattern in his story-telling which makes his stories somewhat predictable.
Before this, I read Brad Strickland's The Sign of the Sinister Sorcerer, based on characters created by John Bellairs, Philip Gulley's Almost Friends: A Harmony Novel and Christmas in Harmony, also Nicholas Spark's Message in a Bottle, among a number of others.

That's interesting, and fortunately I've also discovered that eating more healthy things, such as fruit, healthy fats and whole grains also makes my body crave them more, too, which is a good thing. =D

Just finished In Dublin's Fair City a Molly Murphy mystery. It was good, but I like Ladies Detective Agency better. It was cool to read about Dublin tho, now that I've been there.
Moving onto Blink, by Malcolm Gladwell now.
