^^ I liked the "Sense and Sensibility" remake. But the Kate Winslet version is pretty good too.

Is it the BBC version from last year? If so, I really liked it too.

^ Yes, it was the BBC version from last year. I really liked it, what I saw. ( I missed the first half of it.)

I finally finished HP and the Order of the Phoenix. Geez that book was long. I think I agree with Tiggerpodge. The movie is still my favorite but the book is not my favorite. For one thing, I was getting tired of Harry being angry all the time, and second, it was just too long. I felt I really didn't need a play by play account of every day of Harry's 5th year. I'm going to take a break from Harry and read some Ireland guide books next.

When you're back in HP mode, I really think you'll like the next book. I think it is the best one.

congrats, Sue! its hard to keep with a book like that (i find the Jane Austen tales a bit wordy; im nearly done with Pride and Prejudice

for Austen fans who like a bit of the unusual, there was an article in our local paper last weekend about a book called Pride and Prejudice and Zombies where someone took the JA novel and worked zombies into it! Rachel and i love zombie stuff (weird i know!) and she is going to get it on her next payday. if youre interested, you can find it in the Jane Austen section (at least, that is where Barnes & Noble has it)

the Imagineering Guide for Disney's Hollywood Studios is finally out, and im planning on getting that one soon as it comes in to the store

Yes! I read about the Jane Austin Zombies book in Entertainment Weekly. I definitely plan on checking that out. I should finish HP in July. June is Halfblood Prince and July will be Deathly Hallows.
I'm reading Rick Steve's Ireland guide book now. I'm getting excited! I can see the departure date on my calendar now.

Thanks Tink! I hope you and Rachel make it back to Ireland too!

For the plane trip I plan on bringing magazines, maybe a book or two, and my ipod.

Re:What book are you reading... NOW? 1 Year, 2 Months ago Karma: 8
do you fly directly from Florida or are you making more stops?

our flight over was overnight (departed from Pgh in the evening, with the time changes arrived in Ireland at 8 a.m.) so we tried to sleep on the way over

....but on the way home we were all over the plane talking with new friends, drinking stuff we bought at the airport...it was a real party!

We're going from Florida to NY and then on to Dublin. I know the flight to Dublin is an overnight one.

^ Oh, I loved the Little House books.

They're quite different from the TV show.

Oh, you need to start with Little House in the Big Woods, and then go on from there. And don't skip Farmer Boy? I can't think of the proper name now but it's about Almanzo and when he's a boy. Just get the whole set and work your way through. that's the best way to do it.

I will start HP and the Half blood Prince when we leave for Ireland. Should make good reading material on the plane. I'm reading Ireland guide books now. lol.

"Little House in the Big Woods" is a favorite of mine. The other one of Laura Ingalls Wilder's I loved was "By the Banks of Plum Creek." That's another good one.

I just picked up Richard Hammond's As You Do. Also while in Ireland, I finally got a copy of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

I read the first chapter of HP and the Half Blood Prince while in Killarney. I just didn't find the time to read like I thought I might. Even while on the plane. I was just too excited.

I'm currently reading Melissa Gilbert's tell-all memoir Prairie Tale. I'm greatly enjoying it.

you are so right...i didnt remember the beginning when they were at the Black house everyone being in such a bad mood! im glad they didnt make it like that in the movie....the scene where Harry sees Sirius for the first time when he arrives is one of my favorites!
