Ariel's Under The Sea Adventure
________________________________

Old-type omnimover vehicles designed to look like large shimering aqua-coloured shells take you "Under The Sea" into the movie: The Little Mermaid. The scenery is done in traditional dark ride blacklight, so colours are vibrant and your gym socks glow!!

1. Fathoms Below scene

Very short, but gives you a hint of the song. At the end of the scene, the track dips down and light efffects make it look as if you plunge deep...

2. Under The Sea

Sebastian sings the hit song to Ariel. Large room. All kinds of fish are dancing, singing. Shellmovers sway through different colourful fish and sealife celebrating.

Finally we see Ariel and she looks as if she is waiting for a chance to get away to...

3. Ariel's Rock

Ariel on her rock on the surface sings her reprise toward you. The rock has a wave that appears to splash around it made in glass and as she sings "Watch and you'll see./ Someday I'll be/ Part of your world.../" it gushes with white and light blue brilliance.

4. Ursula's Lair
Ursula is on your left; Ariel on the right. The cauldron is in the middle and is connected to the wall of the room. "Poor Unfortunate Souls" plays in the background.

Ursula: SO have we got a deal?

Ariel: But I'll never be able to be with my family again?

Ursula: But you'll have your man. Life's full of tough choices, idn'it!

You go through doors in the cauldron which flash and you're immediately...

5. Touring the Kingdom

Small room with action tunnel projections on both sides, making it look like you are with Ariel and Eric on their buggy ride, they hit the bump, where the track moves back upward.

6. Kiss the Girl

In the hidden grotto, the vines are lifted for you as you see Ariel and Eric about to kiss, but Flotsam and Jetsam rock their boat, tipping them slightly.

7. Transformation

Ursula "takes matters into her own tentacles" and transforms into Vanessa in a mirror effect room.

8. Marriage

Eric announces to Grimsby that he will marry Vanessa, as Ariel looks away in total despair, breathing hard and her eyes looking upset.

9. On the Wedding Barge

Ursula and is grabing Ariel, about to jump over the side of the deck. Eric yells "Let Her go" Ursula says "So long, loverboy! I've got a much bigger fish to catch."

10. On the Waves

The cart starts rocking left to right and turns slightly backwards. Lighting
coarses through the room. You hear Ursula (but don't see her) "You insignificant fools, now I control all the ocean!" Projected ships against black curtain wings rise out of "the ocean." Your cart wheels around to see a model set of Eric about to Stab Ursula as you enter the next room.

11. Wedding Finale

Eric and Ariel marry as all the characters of the movie, some on the boat some around the track watch their boat go off into the sunset. The ending "Part of your World" is played.

Ride empties out into Ariel's Treasure Trove, full of Ariel's Under the Sea
Adventure shirts. Little Mermaid stuff and plastic fish, etc.

At certain times, children can visit Ariel and Eric in their tower by the sea (the one that doesn't look suggestive.) ;)

So the outside looks like Mermaid Lagoon in TDS?

Nice idea! Where would the ride be located?

Nice Ride Idea but it might be a little too long for a typical darkride.

Monsters Inc : Six Months
Finding Nemo : Fourrteen Months

Too long? All I can say is: Splash!!! :P
I personally don''t think there's such a thing as too long... as long as it's really fun, which this ride would be for certain. I really like it - And I have a feeling little girls everywhere would be linin' up for hours on this ride's que! ;)

LOL I guess I should refrain from making a Pocahontas ride for Phase II lest tloolgb get a bit too sweaty. ;)

I do think it is a bit long, but I didn't want to lose the story, nor have any of the great visuals of the movie omitted. One thing I do regret, and this is all a matter of space, is that Triton only appears in the end! He doesn't even get a confrontation with Ursula!

I'll try to rethink some of it, but the plot of "The Little Mermaid" is somewhat difficult to simplify.

I don't care if it's a little long. Usually the longer the ride is, the better!
