^ I know how you feel. I found out that the other night I missed seeing a biography of the Monkees, followed by "A Hard Day's Night." :( Ah well.

I finally saw the Grey's Anatomy finale. I haven't been keeping up with it all season, but had to watch the finale. Wow! Pretty dramatic stuff. ( The shooter should've gotten April. Could she have been any more annoying?)

I'm watching "Desperate Housewives" on DVD. It's fun to go back and revisit older episodes, as well as catch up on the three later seasons that I completely neglected to watch on TV. Catching random episodes on demand, the show seemed to have turned rather silly. However, watching them chronologically is definitely more 'educational' regarding the current happenings at Wisteria Lane.

I can't say I'm watching anything else besides this. I even told my mom that I'd be okay with removing cable and sticking to basic television.

We've started our Mad Men marathon to get ready for season 4. We're starting with season 1 and working our way up!

And today I got Tales of the Gold Monkey on dvd. I loved this show as a kid. It was an Indiana Jones rip-off on ABC that starred Stephen Collins, but it was still great fun to watch. Somehow I'll have to work this show in around Mad Men.

We watch So You Think You Can Dance (this is the type of dance my daughter does with exception of the ballroom stuff). Up until the seasons ended we also watched Chuck and Glee.

during our "staycation" we have gone to Half Price Books three times in 4 days (2 different stores).

on Sunday i treated myself to Season 1 of Lost In Space...my all-time favorite TV show, which i am sure was the beginning of my lifelong love of sci-fi along with Gort, who i will never forget the first time i saw on TV. i hid behind the sofa!

Yesterday I went to a friend's house and we had a Monkees marathon!

At home, we're having a Mad Men marathon in anticipation of season 4, watching an episode per day.

No real shows unless you count The World Cup and Boston Red Sox baseball.

mostly watching the History Channel lately, watched a few what seemed to be mini-marathons, the one about The Presidents and the one about The States, both of which were on during the morning hours. i love listening to Ed Hermann, what a great voice he has :)

i find myself watching that channel a lot, esp when they talk about haunted places and space programs like the Apollo program, etc.

Not too spoilery...

It doesn't look too good so far with Betty and henry's marriage. I think Henry's mom spoke the truth about what's going down. Free Sally Draper!

Don, get your mojo back! I'm supposed to love to hate you, not feel sorry for you.

More Joan and Roger please.

And it's good to see Peggy moving onward and upward.

I do miss the old Sterling-Cooper gang. It was sad not to see Hildy at Pete's desk. Heck, i even missed kurt and Smitty, and they weren't even in it that much. i hope we see Sal, Paul, and Ken again soon. And Lois!

But all-in-all, I can't wait to see what'll happen this season! :cheer: :woohoo:

Re:What television shows are you watching? 02 Aug 2010 09:22 #122348

i have to say that i am thoroughly confused....

all the higher-ups that i thought they wanted to get away from are still here...and its a year and a half later? i think we have missed a lot of the story

and every time they start talking about what is going on with this acct or that one, i have no idea what it means. i guess its a good thing that im not in the advertising biz

not as good as i was hoping it would be. im sorry not to see Hildy, too! :(

and then on last night's episode, Glen resurfaces after a few seasons...still as odd as ever, it seems. im going to have to go and read some of the synopses to see if i can make sense to myself about it :( should not have to work this hard to understand a TV show!

maybe we will get some Roger and Joan back, as next week's previews showed Joan and her hubby having an argument of some kind.... hmmm

Re:What television shows are you watching? 02 Aug 2010 19:10 #122353

Well remember Lane Pryce left Putnam, Powell and Lowe so he could be a partner with Sterling, Cooper and Draper in their new agency. The four of them are on their own now with only Lucky Strike as their big account/client. Altho now that Freddy's back, they appear to have Pond's cold cream. :)

It was weird seeing Glen again. With his misguided attempt to help Sally, I wonder if he'll be the type to go off and join the Manson Family.

And since we did get to see Freddy and Glen again, it gives me hope that we'll see Paul, Ken and Sal again in some form or another.

Poor Allison.

And Lee Garner Jr is evil!

Next week has me a bit concerned. Why is Joan at the doctor's office?

^ I missed almost all of last season (i.e. Mad Men) due to my mostly being in the UK for work so I am still a little off, but my wife was kind enough to provide me with a brief rundown prior to the season premiere.

I am also very much into Boston Med and Master Chef.

After last night's episode of MM, all I can say is: Anna. :( :(

I'm kind of enjoying Cougar Town lately.
