TOPIC: Disney tour guide

Disney tour guide 23 Aug 2004 03:31 #83873

DC family i need your help once again. I got to thinking over this summer how cool it would be to work as a tour guide for WDW. There are several different disney tours offered by the company but i would prefer a smaller and more intimate group. While doing some research for non-disney companies who offer these services i stumbled across Disneys VIP tours and here is a link. VVV

I have 2 questions. 1 is what are the tours like. Second is what might the hiring process be like? If you have this information or know anyone who does please help out. THank you!

I don't have any info on hiring, but good luck that would be such a cool job...walking around Disney Parks sharing your info with people who actually want to listen. And people who won't go, "yeah we've heard this before".
If you become a guide let us know I'll have to take your tour.

Ok i did some reasearch and here is what i came up with. Someone must first work at disney (probably in a front of the house sort of job) for 6 months before you can be considered for guest services. While in guest services you may be able to apply to be a VIP tour guide. So while im still in school taking classes that wont be happening. :( I would still really like to be a tour guide for another company. S&T is what you said NJ? Perhaps i will check that out.

Being a tour guide sounds like fun. Maybe I will consider that. I was also thinking about driving monorails.

Oh see that's not fair I thought you were naming a real company.

But if they will pay you to drive them to WDW each weekend, hey, theres a job.

I had a friend who did that for awhile. She said it's not as much fun as you would think. You spend more time on the monorail loading dock dealing with sometimes unruly guests than actually driving the monorail. she also said it got really cold and windy up on the monorail platform.

I still dont get it about S&T. I guess its a old people exclusive. Anyway disneypro working at disney isnt all fun and games like it is when you are a guest. Its a completely different experience...unfortunately. But i am sure that there are some jobs that you would love. I have an interview set up for friday morning to do guest relations in the parks! :) Hope that goes well. Third time should be a charm. [-o<
